Trend alert: Body suits

I'm currently loving body suits or "body's". They look great with jeans, trousers, skirts or leggings and I prefer them to wearing a top tucked in that always shifts and ends hanging out during the day or bulks out around the waist.

There are lots of great styles on the high street right now, so I'd thought I'd share with you some of my favorites.

First off, ones I own:

New Look bodysuit

The newest addition to my collection is this grey high neck sleeveless number from New Look. At only £9.99 it's an absolute bargain. Great for wearing with jeans for a casual day look, or under some smart trousers/skirt for work.

River Island bodysuit

Another high neck number, but from River Island this time and with these cute cap sleeves for £25. At time of posting stock is low on the River Island webpage, but it can also be found on ASOS or maybe in store. Again this is great for work, it looks really smart with a grey pencil skirt or it can be dressed up for the evening with a nice pair of skinny jeans and some heels.

Boohoo bodysuit

This Victoria chiffon vest style body suit from Boohoo is perfect with a high wasted skirt. I have this one in both black and white, but coral, navy and lilac are also available. For only £14, it is a bargain. It has a second layer under the chiffon that clings to your body like a traditional body suit which also helps to keep your bra hidden.

Now for my wanted list:

Miss Selfridge bodysuit

Last year bardot tops and dresses were huge and they continue to be a staple in 2016. However, if you invested in a bardot top it is more than likely that you experienced it rising up over your shoulders and spent a lot of time walking around trying not to move your arms too much for fear of it sliding up. The bardot body should, in theory, be the end of the sliding up bardot as it will be held nicely in place by the poppers around your nether regions. This one from Miss Selfridge looks like a great buy.

Missguided bodysuits

A lace up front is very in now and most of the stores are doing lace up bodysuits, like these above from Missguided. I've yet to try these as I am not very gifted in the chest department and some of them plunge very low. But I like the stripy one above on the second row for £18 because that doesn't seem to come too low and the navy and cream stripes are a great look for summer.

Have you joined the body suit brigade yet? What other ones do I need in my wardrobe?

Hummingbird bakery cupcakes recipe

I've been getting quite into my baking lately. I got a Hummingbird Bakery cook book for my birthday last year and have since been working my way through the recipes. The cakes in this book are so tasty and there are lots of different varieties to try.

Over the Easter weekend I went to see my family and they hinted that they might enjoy a cake or two. So the night before, I hit the kitchen with recipe on hand and a little twist in my mind. I used this recipe but used yellow food dye in the frosting and a mini egg for the decoration.

My piping skills need some work, but they tasted pretty good!

Pyjama party

We recently just finished decorating our bedroom and to go with my new Siberian goose feather duvet and pillows I wanted some new cosy PJs.

Pictures from ASOS

I found these on ASOS. It's a grey two piece set with vest top and leggings/slim trousers. But to make them super cute they have a black lace trim around the ankles of the leggings and the bottom trim of the top. Not bad for £24 for the set.

They are a comfortable fit and the material feels like it's a decent quality, not too heavy but still keeps you warm. These also come in pink with a white trim.

Good night x

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker review

Big lips never seem to go out of fashion. When I was at school it was all about Angelina Jolie and now it's Kylie Jenner, but wherever you look, big lips are in. Now if you're like me and do not want to take the cosmetic surgery route to enhance your pout you may be open to trying makeup to give you a boost.

I've heard good things about Soap & Glory plumping glosses from a number of  YouTubers and so I thought I'd see for myself. I popped into Boots and went for the shade "Nudestar". I swatched it on my hand in store and it looked like a subtle nudey brown shimmer. It cost £7 which is a gamble for me on a gloss I was unsure on, but I'd heard great things so went with it.

The before pictures are on the left where I have nothing on my lips. The after pictures on the right are about 10 minutes after applying the gloss.

After application my lips do go extremely tingly and feel cold like I've had something really minty on them. But I just can't notice any difference in their size. It feels like it's working because it tingles a lot, but my before and after look the same.

I am really disappointed with the so called sexy mother pucker as it has done nothing to cause any pucker for me!

Have you tried these glosses? What did you think?

LA Splash liquid lipsticks review

LA Splash is an American brand I discovered through watching one of Hollie Wakehan's makeup YouTube videos. I now love them! Luckily you can buy them in the UK.

They are the first liquid lippys I've tried and they are great. Both the colours I picked are gorgeous and they last for hours. I think they'd look great on any skin tone. They are also cruelty free and suitable for vegans. I have heard people compare them to Lime Crime, which I believe is quite the complement.

The first is Nymphaea (AKA nymphodora). It is a pinky/red/mauve perfect for autumn/winter and it makes my teeth look so white. Also great for glamming up your makeup when going out in the evening.

The second shade is "Charmed" which is quite a cool toned nude. It's great for every day wear and with its staying power I still have it on at the end of my working day.

The daupher applicators make them easy to apply. You use the pointed part on the end to line the lips then the flat part to fill. I say pointed part, but it's a daupher, so not really THAT pointed - you need a steady hand. You also need to be careful not to over-apply as, the charmed in particular can end up looking quite cakey if you aren't careful.

But overall, I am a fan and I will be purchasing some more colours in the near future.

Beanie coffee

I was reading a Christmas gift guide on a blog the other day and they recommended the online coffee company Beanies - The flavour co. On Beanies' website they describe themselves as coffee 'nuts' that are all about adding flavour to improve coffee's natural taste. They do all sorts of flavours of instant coffee from the Christmas themed Mulled Wine, to Amaretto Almond.

Even better, they do a £10 set of three coffees in a presentation box of your choice, free delivery included!

My other half loves his coffee and I thought it would be the perfect gift for him. But as it was the 22nd December I thought it was a bit late for a Christmas present, but I decided to order some anyway for his birthday in February. How wrong was I?! The following day the parcel was delivered by courier, perfectly packaged and smelling great when I opened it. I have never had such an amazingly fast service from a company like that so close to Christmas.

I picked Amaretto Almond, Cinder Toffee and Very Vanilla. It was a tough choice as I was equally tempted by Chocolate Orange, Double Chocolate and Irish Cream. But maybe next time eh?

I think I'll still keep these for his birthday as I've bought him enough for Christmas already. But by having a sneaky smell in the jars, I think they are going to go down a treat!

How to get the "your lips but better" look

Long time, no post! Life got a bit hectic and I was lacking inspiration. Anyway, two products have just entered my life that have given me the inspiration to post and tell you about how amazing they are.

Rimmel exaggerate lip liner in Eastend Snob and Rimmel nude collection by Kate in 45 make the perfect 'your lips but better' look. (Also the blusher above is bloody lovely too).

To apply, I first line my lips with Eastend Snob accentuating my Cupid's bow and then use the liner to fill my lips too. With this method the colour pretty much lasts all day! Then I apply the nude lippy in 45 over the top and the look is complete.

It is the perfect lip colour for autumn and makes your lips look lusciously full.

Have you tried the Rimmel nude collection? What are your favs?
