This week my inspiration came from my boyfriend oddly. He showed me a picture someone had posted on Facebook of their Scrabble manicure. As soon as I saw it I had to replicate.
I used a models own mini polish in a light brown shade as the base and a black Sharpie to draw on the letters. Then I topped it off with my Rimmel matte top coat.
This is my first attempt, and you can tell! They look pretty shabby. It is so hard to write (neatly) on your own nails, especially with your wrong hand. Plus, on the "love" hand I went in too soon with my top coat and smudged the Sharpie. Bad times.
I will practice these more in the future and hopefully be able to show you a neater version one day.
This week I have rediscovered my Rimmel matte polish. I have gone for multi-coloured nails with a jewel effect design on the ring fingers using my nail dotting tools.
I was inspired by this look on Pinterest, but mine look no where near as classy. Nevermind though as I enjoyed trying something different.

Tangle teezer
My hair is pretty long these days so this makes it a whole lot easier to brush my hair after washing or when getting up in the morning. I do kind of wish it had a handle though.
Lush popcorn lip scrub
Perfect invention for dry winter lips, and I think it tastes yummy.
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation
Love the coverage and staying power of this.
MUA Undress me too palette
Great versitility for day and night with these great colours.
L'occitane cherry blossom body lotion
Smells great and keeps your skin feeling wonderfully moisturised.
For my week 2 manicure challenge I have done a black base with ombré glitter.
This is my first ever attempt at ombré glitter, so I was pretty happy with how it went. I used this video as a guide.
I used my black Nails Inc by Kate Spade that I got free with Glamour mag last month for the base colour. For the ombré glitter I used a Barry Ms shade 239 lavender glitter polish.
In a bid to blog more often, I have decided to challenge myself to blog about one manicure per week for the whole year. That's 52 manicures right there.
My week 1 manicure is using this Artstix duo by Model's Own in the colour SnowMix.
These usually retail at £6, but are on sale here on ASOS at the mo for only £4.
Definitely worth a try, they have some great colour combinations. My only gripe is the drying time seems to be quite slow.
When I was in New York I saw this advert on TV for Skechers BOBS slippers. This led to an obsessive compulsive urge to own a pair - typical me.
I didn't end up buying them in NY, as I had pretty much spent all of my money or earmarked it for other purchases. So I looked them up on the UK Skechers website on my return and was gutted that I couldn't find any. Were they US only and I had missed out on buying them?!
A couple of weeks later I was in Covent Garden mooching around the shops before seeing The Bodyguard at the Adelphi theatre, so I popped into Skechers on the off chance.
Right there, on a central stand in front of the door, they had them! Granted they didn't have the colour selection that NYC had, but the black sparkly ones instantly drew my attention.
After a foot measurement (because why not eh?) and £29 on my debit card I was the proud owner.
It is actually strange that I liked the look of these so much, as I hate crocs and I suppose these are a similar shape. Anyway, I think they look great and they are soooo comfy. They have memory foam soles and a lovely warm faux fur lining. I wear them all the time indoors, so they are easily worth the £29.
When these start to look a bit shabby, I am sure I will replace them with another pair of BOBS if they are still available. Hopefully they'll get some more in stock on the website and stock a larger range of colours like they had in New York.
The final pro is that by buying these you are helping charity. Skechers donates a pair of shoes to children in need worldwide for every pair of BOBS bought.
